Great solution for cleaning those nonstick pans! No elbow grease required. Is it actually called cleaning if you don’t have to do anything? You also don’t have to worry about scratching the nonstick surface, which is easy to do if you use the wrong thing.

    I got a “green pan” at Target and it had stuck on stuff and this trick worked. I also agree with the other user, that using med temperature is sufficient.

  • TheAcadieGirl:

    Boiling a non stick pan is extremely toxic. Please do not do this on a high boil. You can do the same at a med temperature. :-)

    @Desi4evah Thanks for the tip!

    @frontporchlivingday2 Oh OK, great idea. Thanks for sharing.

    I also recommend using vinegar/lemon juice with some salt and baking soda in the mixture. Works great!

  • frontporchlivingday2:

    @Desi4evah Actually, I did not give it the title of non-stick, the manufacturere did. Sometimes when you cook things like lean proteins the liquid that is released during cooking actually cooks itself to the pan. The good news is meat releases easily. This is just an alternative to possibly scratching your non-stick or teflon coated pans with abrasive cleaners. I’m just sharing what has worked for me when I’ve found something a little harder to clean than normal.

  • Desi4evah:

    It really isn’t non stick if you have to do all of that.

    You just wash it with soap and water. If it’s really stuck to it, I don’t know why you’re calling it non stick!

    thank you
